Spirit Week Plans for Math

We have wrapped up our Fractions unit, and students completed a quiz in Google Classroom to demonstrate their learning. We are now beginning our   Statistics and Probability  unit, where students will learn how to collect, organize, represent, and interpret data. In Grade 3, this often means lots of opportunities to create and analyze graphs! To make our learning more engaging and meaningful, we are planning a week of hands-on data collection activities. Students have helped generate many of the questions we will investigate, and we are excited to turn our classroom into a team of young statisticians. Each day, students will bring an item or participate in an activity connected to a survey question. We will collect data, create graphs, look for patterns, and discuss what our data tells us. Wednesday June 3rd, 2026 - Cooking with Mrs. Coleman

Hello Parents! We had plans to walk down to Fish Creek Park this week with an Indigenous Elder, however, with the  riverbanks nearing flood levels and the weather not cooperating, our plans have changed once again.  Instead of heading to Fish Creek Park, our Indigenous Elder will be coming to the school to work with students in small groups throughout the day. In the morning, w e will be hosting "Cooking with Coleman" and putting our fraction skills to work by making vanilla and chocolate brownies with our class and Mrs. Coleman' s class. It should be a fun (and delicious!) way for students to apply their learning. If your child has any dietary restrictions to dairy, please send them to school with an alternate snack to enjoy. Thank you!
